Thanksgiving Day falls on the fourth Thursday of November every year. It is the most truly American of the national Holidays in the United States. It is a time for sharing. In the United States, it is their tradition that family members get together for a reunion to have a traditional big dinner. On the dinner table, people will find apples, oranges, chestnuts, walnuts and grapes. There will be plum pudding, mince pie, other varieties of food and cranberry juice and squash. The best and most attractive among them are roast turkey and pumpkin pie. Although it is the traditional festival of America, it reminds us of appreciation.

Recently, I saw a piece of news on the newspaper. This news has a picture matched. The picture shows that a young lady sitting on the seat of a bus. But it is strange that an old lady sits on the leg of the young lady, which there are still many empty seats on the bus. I am totally moved after reading this news. The old lady is the mother of the young lady. The old lady had some problem with her back and leg that she couldn’t sit independently. And her daughter does not want to see her mother stand on the bus in such an old lady, so I see situation on the picture. Having read this, my eyes become wet. When we are young, our mother will often carry us if there is any inconvenient, but when our mother gets old, we seldom carry her.

最近，我在报纸上看到一则新闻。这则新闻配了一张图片。图片上一个年轻的女子坐在一辆公共汽车的座位上。但是奇怪的是，一个老奶奶坐在年轻女子的腿，而且车上还有很多的空位置。我看完这则新闻后完全被感动了。老奶奶的年轻女子的母亲。老奶奶因为背和腿都有点问题，她无法一个人坐稳。她女儿也不想她妈妈这么大岁数了还站着坐公共汽车，所以就出现了我看到的图片那一幕。看完这则新闻后，我的眼睛都湿了。在我们小时候时候，如果有什么不便之处妈妈会常常抱我们，但是当我们妈妈老了，我们却很少抱她。

The ancients had a saying: dripping, the smallest favor. In this world, there are many people who grace to us. Our parents are the two people who give us most grace. When we grow up, we need to say our thanks to them. As far as I am concerned, thanks the people do good to us, especially our parents should be the theme of our Chinese Thanksgiving Day.

When it comes to the standard of good figure, people have the stereotype, i.e., the slimmer, the better. Just open a fashion magazine, all the super-models are skinny. It seems that only a thin person can look good in a fine dress. So, more and more people, especially young girls, are joining the team of losing weight. However, I think losing weight blindly can lead to negative effects.

On one hand, losing weight blindly can cause eating disorder, low blood sugar and anxiety. Some girls are already in good shape, but they pay too much attention to their outwards appearance and spare no efforts to lose weight. In order to reach this goal, the young girls leave out breakfast; eat a little rice and some fruit at lunch, as to the supper, just few cabbage leaves and several bottles of water. They all forget that human’s body needs enough energy so it can function well. However, these young girls fail to realize this. They refuse to take meats or any other so-called gain-weight food. As a result, their bodies had suffered contortion due to malnutrition. Accord to the research, the person who loses weight improper is more easily getting fracture than others. What’s more, losing weight takes courage and determination. Not every losing weight girl has a strong will. You may hear her say that she wants to lose weight, and later you will see her eating junk-food because she is too hungry. Some of the girls eat nothing in the morning while take lots of food in the afternoon. Such behaviors can lead to eating-disorder. It’s really unwise to do so.

On the other hand, doing physical exercise and eating a healthy diet is a wise way to lose weight. Eat three meals a day. Leave out the junk food, such as chocolates, bread which contain trans-fat, soft drinks, and so on. Try to eat more fruit and vegetables. Eating meat is not the main factor of gaining weight, but eating more.

另一方面，进行体育运动和培养健康的饮食习惯是减肥的好方法。每天吃三餐，不吃垃圾食品。例如说巧克力、含有反式脂肪的面包，软饮料等等。试着吃更多的蔬菜和水果。而吃肉不是长胖的主要原因之一,吃太多的肉才是。

For me, I don’t think it is right to be a dink. There are several reasons accounting for my view.

Firstly, everyone has the right to survive. Our lives are given by our parents. Because of parents’ choice, we can go to this world to enjoy everything we own now. We should give our children this chance, too. We have no right to reject them to come to the world. Though the current life is not easy, we still have power to raise our children. We can’t be so selfish.

首先，每个人都有生存的权利。我们的生命是我们的父母给的。因为父母的选择，我们才可以来到这个世界享受我们所拥有的一切。我们也应该给孩子们一个机会。我们没有权利拒绝他们来到这个世界。虽然当前的生活并不容易，我们仍有能力去抚养我们的孩子。我们不能这么自私。

Secondly, contribution should be an important word in everyone’s life. Among the education we receive, I believe we must be taught to make contribution for the society. And most of us also have the mind to work hard to make contribution for the society. But do you know that have children is an indispensable contribution. Because without the effort of next generation, the society could not develop. We need to provide new energy for the world.

The first reason is that ridingelectrical bikes can bring about much potential dangers. Those students being drivingtheir electrical bikes always fly through the crowd. They often race each otherto see who is the coolest, which can satisfy their desire of vanity. Actuallyit’s one kind of adventures. Not only will it threaten their own lives, butalso others. What’s worse, riding much makes us lose many preciousopportunities to exercise. With the standard of living improving gradually, students’health isn’t ideal. Third, too much electrical bikes occupy a big proportion ofthe space of campus, which reduces the range of students’ activities to anextent and influences the appearance of campus to an extent.

In short, banning electrical bikesis of great benefit. Riding bikes is very dangerous, so let alone electricalbikes.
