As children grow older, they soon start interpreting this information to decide for themselves which of their actions are right and wrong. What draws me to study Psychology is this mental processing, and how it affects a person's current and future disposition. I am particularly interested in child psychology, because it is at this stage when a person's personal identity begins to build up, as children are easily influenced by their environment and what they learn from experiences, they carry their entire lives.
Studying human psychology was always a great passion for me, and certain many factors have developed my love for the subject. At the age of 11, I often took on the responsibility of watching over my young nephews, one of whom has autism. This allowed me to observe their behaviour, and notice the irregularity of autism. It wasn't long before I found myself mentally noting down every action of the autistic child and figuring out a way to interact with him using the information I had gathered. My yearning to study the mental processing of children further grew when I volunteered to teach a class of infants. There was a language barrier between the children and I, and I found it facinating how their young minds were still able to convey their thoughts through actions, and thereby breaking through that barrier. The student thesis 'Human Evolutionary Psychology and Animal Behaviour' by Martin Daly and Margo I. Wilson of McMasters Univeristy has also captured my interest, and I aspire to be able to accomplish something comparable in terms of Child Psychology.
I am currently studying Mathematics, Biology, and English language for my A levels. Calculus is of particular interest to me because of how several methods can produce the same result. Relating this to Psychology, I find that there are several actions that bring about a single reaction in an invidual. Studying Biology has honed my ability to experiment and assess, and to notice the symptoms of many disorders. The subject has enlightened me on how the physical body works, and I am now curious to understand how the body's psyche works. English language is developing my verbal and written language skills, which I know are greatly essential for my chosen course, and whatever path it leads me to.
My spare time is filled with light reading into subjects that interest me, and I have developed some knowledge on a wide variety of subjects. Although certain circumstances don't allow me to go out very often, I am quite athletic, taking part in outdoor sports that range from basketball to skateboarding. I am also fond of travelling for I am greatly interested in different cultures and tradtions, and what significant roles they play on an individual's psyche.
As a reliable and hard-working individual, I believe I can make a worthy contribution, and perhaps more so, during my years at the university. Last year, one of my teachers cracked a sexist joke and I commented that I found it inappropriate. He informed me the class was mature enough for such content. After class ended, a male student rudely inquired, Are you a feminist? as if it were a disease. I immediately reverted to a defensive mode, feeling the burden to justify not only my opinions, but also the entire platform of feminism; for a moment, like Gellar, I did not want to associate myself with a term so disgraceful. Looking back on the incident, I wish I would have had the courage I now possess to defend my beliefs. I am willing to take the risk of standing up against a popular opinion if I do not believe it to be right.
Perhaps I illuminate the paradox many modern women face. On one hand, I embody the prototypical, devoted female, assuaging the plight of Romanian orphans and donating countless hours to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Inland Northwest. Sadly, many believe that to be feminine one must remain passive, a role I refuse to accept.
Am I a feminist? If that means I take risks to make my convictions known and strive to be smart and strong, then people can call me that if society must label me. But feminism does not define who I am, it's merely a term to describe some of my principles. I do not advocate every issue grounded in the feminist agenda. Feminism neglects my passion for competition, my desire to enact change, and my love of history. Feminism fails to capture my compelling feelings on Weapons of Mass Destruction or on the high levels of poverty in my hometown of Spokane. No one term elucidates my fear of failure, nor my aspiration to transform others through journalism. Instead, feminism is just one of the many terms I use to express myself, and to differentiate myself from Buffy.

I have always had a flair for business, completing GCSE, AS and A level exams with a high-grade average. I have learnt the importance of finances and budget restraints, which I think is a very valuable lesson to learn. By studying English Language I have been able to improve my writing skills and expand my knowledge of the way in which words can be used to influence and explain. I have found both these subjects to have aided me with various independent projects and have increased my understanding and ability to perform at a high level in different areas. When I joined The Henley College I began working and learning with a wide range of different people from different backgrounds, it was a large change from the structured life of an all girls grammar school. However, I found moving to this environment and a new way of education highly liberating, I was able to adjust very quickly, both socially and to the educational practices. From this experience I learnt to be very open to new opportunities and places, which has helped me with the projects and jobs I have done.
There are a large range of skills required when working in commercial photography- an example of these being networking and perseverance. In order to gain a wider perspective into the challenges of this as a career, as well as my subject coursework, I have done freelance work on a number of occasions including photographing private events and parties. I found these jobs to be more subjective as I had to work to a very specific brief with tight deadlines; the results of such experiences I have found to be highly positive. 一旦你收到某个学校的导师表示愿意接收你作为 PHD 学生，你就需要向学校申请 offer 了，同时看看有没有奖学金机会，可以同时申请。录取和奖学金是两回事：你可能拿到学校的 offer ，但是不一定拿到奖学金，奖学金的申请，竞争比较激烈。
申请时间：澳洲主要几所知名大学的博士申请在一年中的任何时候都可以进行，但奖学金的评选每所学校有不同的时间轮次，这个要注意。一般在递交申请材料之后三个月左右收到录取结果，建议提前一年开始申请的准备。
4、时间规划
申请澳门留学博士应至少提前一年准备申请计划。这里所指的是，在英语标准化考试成绩、科研背景等都准备基本就绪的情况下，查询博士研究方向和教授信息，跟自己的情况匹配，并且按照学校的要求提交入学申请的时间规划。即研究生毕业申请博士，需要在研二的时候开始。研究课题及论文发表、获奖证明更为重要，需提前准备。如果有志于申请博士并且想要获得奖学金的话，建议从进入大学的那一刻就开始为此做准备，越早开始，越能发现自己的真正兴趣，也越能有机会在科研方面获得成果。语言标准化考试如托福 (或雅思)和GRE等成绩，在提交申请前准备完成并且在考试时间安排方面给自己预留两次以上的考试机会。
二、澳洲博士申请条件
1、学历条件：同学们可参照学校官方网站要求进行申请，通常要求拥有硕士学位或荣誉学士学位，或者证明有相当的科研创新能力，发表过期刊论文的申请者很有可能申请到奖学金。
2、研究条件：申请学生必须要证明自身有较强的研究能力，在查询目标院校网站要求后，寻找符合个人方向的项目和导师，并通过邮件或电话取得联系。
通常导师会偏爱发表过文章、并能申请到奖学金或者负担的起学费的学生。
3、语言条件：雅思总分至少达到6.5分、单项不低于6.0，部分专业要求更高。
4、材料条件：申请澳洲高校的博士课程，一般需要提供申请表格、推荐信、个人简历、学历学位证书及成绩单、研究计划书、挑选研究课题等资料。
材料环节中最重要的要数研究计划，研究计划需要说明申请人的研究方向、研究方法、选择本项目的原因等，要尽可能的突出个人对项目的一些实质性想法。
三、澳洲大学博士奖学金的申请条件
1、申请时为中国内地居住的永久中国公民;
2、正在国外工作或学习者不得申请;
3、学成后必须返回中国;
4、申请人必须达到澳院校研究型硕士课程在学术和英语水平方面的一般选拔标准，即雅思考试总分6.5分，各单项成绩不低于6.0分;
5、必须符合国家留学基金管理委员会的选拔标准。申请对象具有本科以上学历的申请者，包括在读硕士和博士研究生的学生国内研究机构工作人员、大型企业研发机构工作人员。
申请者具有明确的研究方向或课题，能够用英文撰写奖学金和博士学位申请书。申请不包括联合培养博士生项目，学习时间为三年。
澳大利亚留学的衣食住行
一、衣服
澳洲的气候还是比较适宜的，尤其是澳洲大学分布的几个城市，冬天不是很寒冷夏天也不是很炎热，澳洲人穿衣是比较简单的，穿着比较舒适就行，在一些重要的场合，就会穿的比较的正式，看起来要大方有气质。在平时的生活中都是比较的随意休闲，穿T恤和牛仔裤，澳洲的衣服可不是很便宜的，你是从国内带上足够多的衣服来澳洲。
二、食物
澳洲的饮食就跟西餐差不多，也是吃肉类和面食，因为澳大利亚是靠海的国家，所以海鲜也是他们的主要食物，各种烹饪方式的海鲜都有，如果你在澳洲学习每天的三餐都是在外面吃，那费用可就不便宜了，如果你想节省一点生活费的话，可以在市场去买一些新鲜的菜，在你住的地方做饭，每天都能自己做饭的话可以省下不少的钱。
三、住所
在澳洲，国外的学生学校都会给学生提供宿舍的，相对来说会比较方便和安全，但是费用却是外面房子的好几倍，也不能在宿舍里面做饭，你只能去学校的食堂吃或者是外面的餐厅吃。住寄宿家庭的话你的饮食就不用担心了，他们都会给你把饮食都准备好的，住在这里就需要学生能够和澳洲人打好交道，和他们能够顺畅的沟通。在外面租房子，可不是一件容易的事情，你要自己出去找，不能找的离学校很远，而且现在房源信息很多很复杂，要小心不要被那些人给骗了。
四、交通
澳洲的交通还是很发达的，公交车、电车、火车在这里都有，交通工具都是按照时刻表来运行的，如果你你经常要坐车的话，月票你还是买一张，对学生是不会有很高的价格的，只会是有优惠价。通常在学校里面住的学生平时上课也不用坐到交通，如果你是要出学校去购物或者是游玩也要坐 交通，住的离学校很远的学生每天去上课都是要坐车的。
