If what he reads is moving, he can put down the book for a few moments and cope with his emotions without fear of losing anything. The pace of the television experience cannot be controlled by the viewer; only its beginning and end are within his control as he clicks the knob on and off. He cannot slow down a delightful program or speed up a dreary one. He cannot "turn back" if a word or phrase is not understood. The pro-gram moves inexorably forward, and what is lost or misunderstood remains so. Nor can the television viewer readily transform the material he receives into a form that might suit his particular emotional needs, as he invariably does with material he reads.The images move too quickly. He cannot use his own imagination to invest the people and events portrayed on televisionwith the personal meanings that would help him understand and resolve relationships and conflicts in his own life~ he is under the power of the imagination of the show's creators. In the television experience the eyes and ears are overwhelmed with the immediacy of sights and sounds. Others love long vacations better, for they can spend their precious time on different kinds of activities. As for me, I prefer long vacations for the following reasons.

First, long vacations provide people enough time to travel remote. We can go to Yunnan, Beijing, even Thailand on the long vacations. But short vacation can not do this, for the time is not enough. The days you spend on the roads will cost at least two days. The long vacations will solve this problem. Second, the long vacation is a perfect time for us to meet old friends from primary and high school. We haven’t seen each other for a while, it’s time that we can get together and have some fun. Third, we can do various activities on the long vacations. Such as barbecue, go to KTV, sleeping all day long without being disturb by phone calls. What’s more, I can reread lots of my favorite books on long vacations. Especially I still haven’t finish reading the series of A Song of Ice and Fire.

首先，长假可以让人们有充足的时间去远方旅游。我们可以去云南，北京，甚至泰国。但是短假就不行了，你光是花在路上的时间就要两天了。而长假则不会有这样的问题出现。其次，长假是我们与小学同学、高初中同学聚会的好时候。我们很久都没有看见彼此了，是时候聚在一起找些乐子了。第三，我们可以在长假进行各种活动：烧烤、去KTV唱歌、睡一整天而不会被电话打扰。更好的是，我可以在长假中把自己喜欢的书在阅读一次。特别是我还没有读完《冰与火之歌》系列。

Long vacations are so good, I hope it will last. For me, it’s the most relaxing time for me to do the things I want and forget all about my problems. I think the government should arrange more long vacations for people.

首先，学生在大学期间得到的知识是很笼统的，专业性并不强，所以他们应该继续学习来增强他们在某一领域的专业度。如果他们毕业后去找工作，由于工作的针对性，他们可能做不好工作。

Second, collegians can get a better paidjob in the future if they attend graduate school. Generally, there are too manyjob seekers with bachelor’s degree, so they are paid little when they find jobsat the first time. However, students with master’s degree are paid more thanthe bachelor’s degree when they find a job for the first time. Moreover, manycompanies prefer to hire students with a higher degree, so the master’s degreeholders will be the priority of recruiters compared with the bachelors.

其次，如果大学生继续读研，那么在将来会得到一份更好的工作。通常来说，求职者有大部分都是大学学历，所以大学生第一次找工作的时候得到的报酬很低。但是，那些有研究生学历的人在第一次找工作的时候得到的报酬会多一点儿。另外，许多的公司也愿意聘请那些高学历的人士，所以在找工作时候，有研究生学历的人会比仅有大学学历的人更受招聘者的青睐。

In conclusion, when students graduate, itis good for them to attend graduate school in order to become more professionalin their area and get a better job in the future.
