The 4P’s as advocated in marketing (price, place, promotion and product) are specifically oriented toward market fluctuations and they require special sensitivity in capturing market information, thorough understanding of the problems involved, and the ability to solve problems by sound logical reasoning. The four aspects as represented by 4P’s constitute the fields in which I made conscious efforts to develop and to improve my competence. While taking the market course, I immersed myself in various western textbooks including the classic work Marketing Management by Philip Kotlor. Meanwhile, I endeavored to assimilate useful knowledge from case studies, realizing the empirical nature of the subject. I had a habit of applying a multiplicity of perspectives from different frameworks of knowledge to bear on the same problem and for this reason I once achieved the highest score in my department in an oral presentation. My teacher of the Marketing course, who is also the chairman of the Marketing Department, believed that I was most suited to a career in marketing. His remarks gave me tremendous encouragement and further reinforced my determination to seek an advanced education in this fascinating area.

Marketing is an applied science that calls for constant practice based on a mastery of its theories and principles in order to develop an awareness of how marketing is actually conducted. During the summer vacation in the second year, having completed the marketing course, I participated in the promotion campaign on behalf of the Little Swan Home Appliances Products (Little Swan being the brand name of China’s most famous producer of home appliances) at Zhengzhou Department Store in Henan Province. During the promotion campaign, we provided detailed information to our prospective clients concerning the products and their post-sale services on one hand and submitted the feedback to the headquarters on the other. This refreshing experience of directly facing clients excited me, making me all the more interested in various activities that could increase my practical knowledge of marketing. One of such activities was a project my classmates and I contrived for developing a realistic understanding of the principles of Marketing Lens Model. According to this model, different individuals may experience major differences in their cognition of their surroundings due to differences in their education, backgrounds and personal experiences, which lead to their development of their differential cognitive lenses. Our project team conducted an all-campus evaluation of the teachers’ performance and of the soundness of the curriculum in the form of questionnaires and follow-up surveys. Based on the findings of our investigation, we submitted to the university authorities rationalization proposals concerning how to improve of the quality of teaching and how education could be geared to the specific needs of students. Positively commented upon, our proposals were mostly adopted by the authorities. This successful experience made me understand that some concepts of marketing could be fruitfully applied to different walks of life, not merely put into service for the profit-making organizations.

My practical work experience in marketing started with my employment at the Sales Department of Beijing Education & Cultural Communications Center upon my graduation in the summer of 2001. Over the past one year, I participated in planning promotion campaigns for several sets of book series and in the management of media publicity. I was also responsible for designing the exhibitions for those book series. However, in performing my responsibilities, I became dismayed by the reality. My heretofore work experience shows me that, although marketing has developed into a comprehensive discipline that is both enlightening and capable of social guidance over a century-long innovation and evolution, the idea of marketing as the strategic presence of a given enterprise has not yet been established within the Chinese economic milieu. With the increased competition brought about by globalization, especially with China’s accession to the WTO, the widely-accepted conventional formula of “production + product + marketing” has been rendered obsolescent, unable to satisfy the needs of China’s present buyer’s market and the necessity to maintain sustainable development after China’s WTO accession. In particular, faced with the challenges posed by the emergence of knowledge economy, Chinese enterprises must revolutionize its conventional notions of marketing. Toward this objective, Chinese enterprises must top-level management and marketing professionals who can formulate effective marketing strategies and establish highly efficient marketing network. In this regard, prospective marketing professionals have a mission and a responsibility to perform. Apart from my interest and my potential, this factor constitutes the most direct reason behind my current effort to apply for a Ph.D. program in marketing at your prestigious university. It is my expectation that in my future degree program I will be exposed to the most recent concepts and modes of thinking in marketing which I can ultimately apply to the Chinese marketing practice.

Although I did not major in marketing as an undergraduate, my professional training in accounting can nevertheless be instrumental to my academic and career development in the future. The specialty of accounting also required me to receive basic training in economics and management, an education background that allowed me to evolve mental habits characteristic of economics and management. In my undergraduate program, trainings in the development of mental habits were far more important than the mere acquisition of book knowledge and my performance in work has also indicated that I excel my peers in logical reasoning and in economics-specific mentality. My GPA is not absolutely high (but showing obvious ascendancy), which could be attributed to my initial dislike for accounting on one hand and to my extensive participation in extracurricular activities to satiate my special love for marketing practices. Those activities consumed a considerable amount of my time and energy that I could otherwise have devoted to coursework. Nevertheless, I take great comfort in having developed my empirical knowledge of marketing by participating in those activities.

Successful marketing is the most crucial strategic arrangement in making quality products available to prospective consumers. 一、预科基本类型

按照学校的性质，可以分为公立预科和私立预科。

1.公立预科

Of all the sub-areas of Computer Science, my major interest is parallel processing and the related compiler construction. The terminology of parallel processing came to me when I read an article about digital circuit testing. According to this article, there exist many serial approaches of solving the automatic test pattern generation (ATPG) problem. Though certain method of solving ATPG sometimes proved efficient, the computation time for a method of solving ATPG sometimes proved efficient, the computation time for a complete result is intolerable, the a parallel processing machine is proposed. Using paralleled ATPG method, this NP complete dilemma is ingeniously handled. After reading, I surprisingly realized that parallel processing opened a new window for the computationally intensive problems, which prove intractable for the VON NEUMANN Architecture. You can always first split a specific computational task into several independent divisions, then assign each part to a certain processor. With reasonable partition and proper synchronization, most grueling scientific applications can be reduced to normal scale problems.

With the advent of the multiprocessor architecture, compiler optimization faced a new challenge. A compiler not only has to translate, but it is also responsible for generating parallel-processing loop provides a rich opportunity of exploiting parallelism. Therefore, finding an optimum strategy for loops because a hot research topic. On the whole, parallelism changes our view toward the conventional computer architecture so that the compiler’s construction must make the corresponding modification. Because of this challenging characteristic, I choose them to be my interest of future study.

Yet parallel processing is far from maturity. It has been observed that some sequential algorithms can be easily translated into fast parallel algorithms while some others may not. Is every sequential computation can be done efficiently in parallel? If not, what properties result in such distinction? Another unsettled problem is programming parallel computers now is like programming serial computers in the 1960s. Programmers get locked into a particular manufacturer’s computers. Is it possible for us to design a higher level language for parallel computers that hides the underlying machine architecture from users? Both are crying out for solution.

Without advanced knowledge, I can do nothing but wait. In order to convert my undergraduate study into full play, graduate education is a necessity. From the college guide and my advisor’s recommendation, I am pleased to learn that your department has an academic atmosphere where originality is appreciated and individual potential is explored. 一、寄宿家庭

一、整理行李

一、申请时有个好的语言成绩

对于需要专业背景的专业，主要考察申请者的专业背景是否满足所申请的专业，主要通过申请者的成绩单来考察课程设置，查看专业关联度。另外英国有些专业是完全可以接受转专业的，所以申请时一定看好学校的入学要求。

四、申请者的平均成绩

英国名校需要申请者至少具备平均分80%的成绩，部分工科或申请者较少的专业，申请者具备75%的成绩也可申请。当然，这还要看你的毕业学校的档次，211与非211还是有几分的差距。

For my A-levels I chose to study English Literature, Theatre Studies and French, because these courses have allowed me to develop both my written skills and structuring the writing style that is so varied for each subject. In English Literature we studied the era in which 'New Journalism' was introducing itself into society by such Journalists as Tom Wolfe and Gay Talese. Their 'unconventional' works were published in magazines rather than newspapers, due to the response from the editors who favoured the more 'traditional' journalists of the time. Theatre Studies has required me to devise and interpret plays which has enhanced my confidence, improvisation and time management skills, as well as building on theory and historical context. When studying French we take a view on current affairs from around the world today. We learn how to debate and compose various pieces of written work documenting both our own opinions and taking a neutral view. French A-level has also strengthened my skills to successfully learn a language with its grammar, vocabulary and culture.

I have recently been on a five day work placement with my local paper. It was a great experience where I gained the insight into the daily life of a journalist and I was able to write articles which required piecing together through photojournalism and interviews in order to produce the finished article. It also provided me with the practice to prepare me for both University and my future career. I have written articles for my school newspaper and hope to write more in the future. Throughout my life I have developed a particular interest in acting and the surrounding effects upon society that it creates. In 20xx, I received a part as an extra in a period film directed by Julian Fellowes, recently previewed at The London Film Festival. 英国留学不要做的事情

1、千万不要作弊

在国内如果考试作弊被抓到的话，可能只是挂科或者被通报批评，并不会对你以后的学习生涯造成影响。但是如果在英国留学期间考试作弊被抓到的话，这个污点会伴随你的整个留学生涯，最后你能不能顺利毕业都会是个大问题!所以在这里奉劝各位同学们千万不要以身试“法”哦!

2、别在室内吸烟

在英国室内随处可见烟雾报警器，这些烟雾报警器可是相当灵敏的，尤其是留学生宿舍。即使你身在自己宿舍也不能随意吸烟，如果你因为吸烟引起烟雾报警器鸣响的话，那么恭喜你，伴随消防队到来的还有数百英镑的罚款。

同样要注意的，不要在厨房爆炒，如果你实在想一展厨艺的话，请你一定要关门开窗，不然你的烟雾报警器同样会给你带来罚款哦!

3、不要挑战deadline

deadline即是交作业的最后期限，如果你晚于diadline交作业的话，你将会被扣除一定百分比的分数，要是因为这一点挂科的话，你将会欲哭无泪!

4、别惹小动物

不要招惹海鸥!鸽子!大鹅!!!

英国法律规定英国的所有动物都是女王的私产，都是受到保护的，如果你伤害了这些小动物，据说会被遣返哦!

5、不要误食黄水仙

每年春天，超市里都会成捆成捆的卖黄水仙，野草地上也有很多含苞待放的黄水仙，与国内的蒜苔十分相似。

但是，注意了!!!

蒜苔是可食用的，黄水仙不仅不可食用，而且有毒!它的价值仅限于观赏，不要因为它长得像蒜苔而去尝试，每年因为这个中毒的人可不少。

6、翘课

对于国内的大学来说，哪怕你翘课了最多这一门课挂科重修。但是在英国，对于无故旷课十天及以上的同学，学校将会上报内政部，一旦被查证的话，你可能会被遣返回国……

7、逃票

在英国逃票可不是你随便补上就可以的哦!

一旦核实你真的逃票的话，轻则罚款，重则上法庭，到时候可不是一张票的价钱就能解决的喽!

出国留学行李准备清单

1.材料准备

护照、毕业证、学位证、成绩单、公证双认证、2寸证件照(20张)

本科入学时需要向学校递交高中毕业证、会考成绩单及其公证双认证;

研究生入学时需要向学校递交本科毕业证、学士学位证、大学4年成绩单及其公证双认证。

同学们在拿到公证书时，一定要仔细核对自己的俄语姓名等其他俄文信息。

2.准备现金

第一年同学们还要购买一些学习和生活用品。还要办理入学手续，缴纳注册学籍费、延签费、医疗保险费等杂费。

第一次出国应至少带齐：第1年学费+第1年住宿费+3个月生活费+其他杂费，具体费用根据自己的情况计算清楚。

3.日用品

多功能转换插座可以多准备几个;插排两个左右。电话卡到了当地办理，一些日用品当地都可以买到。

行李箱尺寸，不同的航班要求不同，中国航空公司基本上是2个28寸的大行李箱可以托运，随身携带一个小的背包即可。

买飞机票的时候要看有没有行李额度，有的航空公司是只卖飞机座位和手提行李，所以看起来价格便宜，但是并没有行李额度，托运费很贵，全程超过一百美元。

行李可以托运也可以不托运，但不托运的行李只限20寸的箱子，而西伯利亚航空的规定比俄航的规定还严格一些，不托运带上飞机的箱子限20寸的箱子(不超过10千克，三边尺寸之和不可以大于203CM)。

托运的时候注意不要把贵重物品进行托运，比如手机，iPad，电脑等。
