我们提前4天就到了学校。站在即将成为我学习生活的学校中，我心灰意冷。破旧的教学楼，落后的硬件设备，完全与我心目中的大学形象背道而驰。复读涌现脑中，但爸妈立即打消了我的这个念头，他们不断的鼓励我“英雄不问来源!”就这样，我注册了。

半年的大学生活，享乐和内心的挣扎一样，一向没有间断过。由于没有很好的理财，和较高的自制力，半年花了家里不少钱。除了必要的一日三餐，每一天零食不断，买衣服，其余的花销就是和朋友混。在外国语学院，什么都缺，就是不缺女生。因为我参见的活动相比较较多，认识了几个聊得来的男生朋友，这点让我的室友很是羡慕。没课或放假，我们就会找各种理由，逃离学校，看电影，逛超市，压马路，吃饭，到游戏厅...

因为身边除了舍友外，朋友多是男生，在获得友情的同时，不免有时也想入非非。记得当时我和这个男生刚认识的时候，我没有什么好感。但他却处处表现出对我很热情，给我讲他的情史，还说他单身。有事没事就要请我吃饭，当然我不一样意。然后他就拜托我事情，再请。渐渐的我们的联系多了起来，透过相处，我发现他很全能，体育很强，也有一些我不具备的品质。他没有直接说过喜欢我，但我隐隐约约的感觉，我仿佛喜欢他了。很多次，都想告诉他，因为女生的矜持，之后还是没有开口。原因是我发现他其实与他的女友还联系，我最不能容忍这种男生，所以什么都免谈。

那些天在下雨晚上的时候，班级为了促进同学之间的相互认识和更亲近的相处，就让我晚自习的时候班干部和帮助组织一些活动来促进同学之间的关系。那个时候帮助有时候会让我们聚集在班级里玩一些小游戏，有时候也会让我们照到多媒体教室里一起看看恐怖片。军训的那几天是很轻松的，虽然是军训，但是我们并没有晒到什么太阳，总体来说还是很快乐和轻松的。

另外大学的课堂上并不像高中一样，需要时刻的绷紧精神，好好的听老师讲课，大学的课程有部分是很有趣的，即使是没有学业要求，我也是很乐意去听的，就比如说我学习的有门课教艺术史，在上艺术史的时候，老师就会给我们讲古希腊古埃及的一些神话故事，给我们讲那些人物关系和一些很有名的故事，包括宗教神话的缘起，讲宙斯这些故事我们都会听得津津有味。

另外也有更多空闲的时间是可以由我们自己分配的，这个时候时间变得很自由，这也是让我觉得大学生活比较开心和愉快的一件事情。

Self-denial is an important quality of a maturestudent. The word “Self-denial” means restraining being strict with oneself. Sometimes,people define it as self-discipline which has a bias passive meaning.Self-denial is not making a lot of rules and regulations to layer upon layer tomanacle oneself, but with the autonomic action to create an order for our studylife. We always have great dreams, have magnificent ideals and have grand prospects;however, they are often postponed or even vanished by ourselves due to the lackof self-denial. We should put our ideas into practice. Besides, self-denialalso means denying yourself and controlling your impulses. Nobody is perfect. Facedwith mistakes, we should take measures to modify it and never behaveimpulsively.

Determination is another characteristic of a maturestudent .What we define determination is to take up your mind to act decidedlyand take the consequences. Determination not only means decision but alsopractice. In China, there is a famous fable “the foolish old man removed themountains”, which presents spirits of firm determination and perseverance. Nogood is ever done by hesitation in the world. It is known that Buffet, everytime his investment will get a hugereturn, because he is well prepared in advance and determined what makes hispay shall be multiplied.

Although self-denial and determination are both vital,probably the most important measure of maturity is dependability. When we talkabout a person who is dependable means he is worthy of reliance or trusts. Ifyou are committed to transmit some secret documents to a company, you must berequired dependable. Sometimes dependability refers to responsibility. Judginga person whether he is mature or not, responsibility is the key factor, becauseonly the person with responsibility is worthy of being depended on.

In conclusion, if a student who owns the qualities ofself-denial, determination and dependability, he can say that he is a maturestudent with pride; otherwise he can’t. If you really can develop the threequalities, you really comprehend the meaning of maturity.

总是，如果一个学生拥有自我否定，决心和可靠性，他可以自豪地说自己是一个成熟的学生，否则就不可以。如果你真正能够发展以上三种品质，你就真正理解了成熟的意义。

When we look at the commercial ads, we are easily attracted by the beautiful faces. All these perfect faces are made up. People are enjoying watching the attracting scenery, but when they are asked their opinion about the make-up, they are not that open. In my opinion, making up is everybody’s right.

当我们看到商业广告，会很容易被那些美丽的脸庞吸引。这些完美的脸蛋是经过化妆的。人们享受着观看这迷人的风景，但是当询问他们对于化妆的看法，就没有那么包容了。在我看来，化妆是每个人的权利。

Early in the morning, my friend sent me the two pictures, I saw a girl’s face, one of the picture very beautiful, because the girl had made up, while the other looked not that beautiful, because she did not make up. My friend said so many people criticized this girl, for they thought she was ugly and her beautiful outlook was just the trick of make-up. They felt like being cheated.

一大早，我的朋友就给我发来了两张图片，我看到了一个女孩的脸，其中一张图片很漂亮，因为这个女孩化妆了，然而另外一张看起来没有那么好看，因为她没有化妆。我的朋友告诉我很多人批评这个女孩，因为他们觉得她很丑，美丽的外表不过也是化妆的把戏。他们觉得被欺骗了。

Seeing these impolite words, I had to say that people are so mean to the people who have made up. It is everybody’s right, if making up can bring people confidence and happiness, then it is right to make up. The things that bring positive sides are worth to be done, we don’t have to care about other people’s judgment.
