I first realised I wanted to study Psychology when studying Drama, because in order to portray characters I had to understand their mind and develop their personality. I found the differences in characters were so vast that it made me want to understand these variations. Since beginning the course in College I have been truly captivated by all areas of psychological theory and research, and am eager to contribute to the understanding we have about the behaviour of human and non-human animals. In particular, I am fascinated by the fundamental debates in Psychology, for example the nature nurture debate. A Forensic and Investigative Psychology conference I attended, presented by Professor David Canter, caught my attention as I found it intriguing that people can behave in such a way that will offend others and often feel little or no remorse. After reading his book, Mapping Murder, my interest in abnormality and psychopathology rapidly increased, as his book and conference allowed me to understand the psychology behind this type of behaviour, amplifying my interest in the subject. I enjoy reading about different studies that have been conducted in the past, which I can analyse and evaluate to obtain a more advanced understanding of behaviours exhibited.

As a peer mentor, my job was to attend to the needs of younger or more vulnerable students and to offer them full support. This job requires patience and compassion, along with willingness to help and motivate others. I have received certificates and awards for good behaviour, attendance, punctuality and performing arts, demonstrating my enthusiasm in everything I do. My work experience in the retail industry has given me the chance to develop critical skills which are essential such as; good communication with others, a strong determination to achieve my best and dedication to all work I undertake. As an A2 Psychology student, I received the Student of the Month award for my outstanding enthusiasm, effort and achievement. Drama & Theatre Studies has given me an alternative perception of human behaviour, the intensity of emotions and the variations inherent in that. Music Technology has helped me develop my analytical and concentration skills. I am also a member of the Student Council, where I represent my fellow students and have a great responsibility to ensure that their views are heard and acted upon.

I enjoy reading a range of books from novels to biographies as well as books to support my academic studies. Currently I am reading The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins to support my understanding of Evolutionary Psychology. I find it fascinating that natural and sexual selection can provide ultimate explanations for the behaviour of animals, including humans. I also enjoy sports, such as swimming, cricket, tennis and hockey, resulting in my competitive nature and desire to succeed. I have had a variety of part time jobs in which I have had to work with the public and satisfy their needs whilst working under pressure to complete assorted tasks. Although I am looking forward to going to university, I have decided to take a gap year and hopefully attend Camp America, where I would work with young people as a Counsellor, ensuring their health and safety, and keeping them entertained. My role will depend on my ability to have strong authority but also an approachable manner at all times and I am confident I can carry out the role with the utmost professionalism. I am eager to study Psychology in as much depth as possible, and I intend to practise a career in the fields I am particularly interested in - Clinical and Pathological Psychology. 4、财产证明

银行存款证明银行定期或活期存款证明均可,(需要至少有28天的银行存款记录),另外存款尽量满足留学一年所需的学费和生活费;在银行存款证明开出一个月后,才可以递交签证。

押金收据录取之后交纳押金的收据。

本人/父母的收入证明如果本人有稳定收入来源的工作,可以提供自己的收入证明;如果你是学生,资金证明在父母名下,则需要提供父母的收入证明。

5、其他各类材料

签证申请表自行打印签证申请表,填写完成由本人签字。

签证费需要支付签证费用:¥3410。

1、预科

For me the appeal of anthropology is that it draws on a wide range of disciplines, and that it combines theory with empirical study. Anthropology is a useful discipline in the world, where, for example, its use in developing countries is needed to give appropriate consideration as to how to successfully aid development without harming or diluting the country’s indigenous cultures. In my A level courses I have enjoyed the juxtaposition of scientific enquiry with the imaginative scope allowed me by my other subjects. Last summer I spent six weeks in the Andes teaching English to primary school children. I was living with a family which accepted me as a surrogate daughter while I was there, even taking me on their family holiday during the ‘fiestas patrias’. This gave me an invaluable chance to experience daily life in Peru. I enjoyed watching the rate at which my Spanish improved during my stay. I also tried to learn some Quechua. It was good to get a feel for the language as it is very central to the identity of the indigenous Peruvians of that area. The experience in highland Peru drew my attention to the wide and apparently unbridgeable gaps in wealth and existences of people that are living side by side but almost unaware of each other. Even with my host family it was strikingly evident that their friendship groups were almost exclusively held with other people of the same kind of economic and ethnic background. I am now reading ‘Linking Separate Worlds, urban migrants and rural lives in Peru’ by Karsten Paerregaard, which is a study of the social identity that urban migrants carry with them.

One afternoon a week I help archive in the small local history museum where amongst other things I am learning about the history of indexing and also about the way that museums and exhibits are arranged. I have just started a course in a circus school and work on Saturdays at an arts bar in London. I am excited about going to University and being in an environment where no one is afraid to think, or is constrained by boundaries created by learning just for exams. Having been involved in the Amnesty International team at school and in starting up the fledgling ecology group and school magazine I would like to continue to seek out and get involved in things that inspire, challenge and stimulate me.

As I approached my studies primarily from a problem-oriented manner, devoting much more energy to labwork than to coursework in order to satisfy my curiosity for solving practical problems, my overall GPA is somehow affected, slightly lower than what I would have desired. In my case, GPA, which is purely based on exam scores, does not account much. In retrospect, I have been more concerned with developing my hands-on abilities and on developing an extensive knowledge rather than on intensive test-oriented knowledge. Nevertheless, compared with other students, I am sure that I excel them in terms of experimental skills and the ken of knowledge and, for an undergraduate, a good foundation supported by comprehensive specialized knowledge and strong hands-on abilities are most important for more intensive studies in the future.

I have every reason to believe that my excellent experimental skills and research experience will qualify me to be a helpful research assistant to my future supervisor and to make important research achievements. Even when I was a freshman, I started to work as a research assistant in the laboratory. Over the past four years, I have commanded most of the basic skills necessary for undertaking lab research, such as operations on animals, cell culture, electrophoresis experiments, etc. By far, my most important research experience came from undertaking my graduation project, which exemplified an overall test of experimental techniques. I chose to focus on the Effect of Ye3 on the Cell Apoptosis. The reason for choosing this subject of research is that the study of cell apoptosis has a crucial importance in the treatment of cancer and in maintaining the immunity of those suffering from AIDS. On the premise that rare earth ions are considered capable of entering cells, I decided that my project would concentrate on rare earth ions and their effects on cell nucleus. With extensive experiments, I discovered that, under different circumstances, rare earth ions would produce totally different behavior toward cell apoptosis. When the concentration of rare earth ions is below a certain ultimate limit, the function of the ions changes from that of facilitating cell apoptosis to that of suppressing cell apoptosis. As an initial and tentative study, my research has won very positive comments from my advisor. In undertaking a large quantity of experiments, I not only applied basic operation skills with much dexterity but also acquired many new techniques such as making post-coloring observation of the morphology of cell nucleus through the confocal fluorescence microscope, and performing qualitative testing of cell apoptosis with the help of flow cytometry method (FCM).

I am hoping to read for a communications, media and culture degree. I've slowly been gaining practical experience alongside my academic learning. Two years ago, I was lucky enough to get work experience with a television crew on location as a runner. I learnt the value of working as a member of the team in a stressful environment and I gained an understanding of the processes of TV production. I have also been involved in several other media projects, some as coursework and others undertaken independently.Coursework projects have included a magazine for young male teenagers; designing a product and advertising campaign; and producing, directing and presenting a documentary for sixth formers and their parents on the EMA system. As extra-curricular activities, I designed a poster and Internet campaign for one of the school plays and in the absence of any existing school publication, I launched a bimonthly newsletter, aimed at Angley's students. These projects have provided great learning experiences, enabling me to develop print software skills in a creative way.

Other school activities have included, the lead male role in 'South Pacific' and significant roles in 'Oliver' and 'West Side Story' as well as assisting the Performing Arts A-level group perform their comedy show. By playing roles on stage, my confidence has increased and I have learnt to appreciate and learn from the talents of others. I am also a school prefect, which I find satisfying and a great privilege.

In my leisure time I enjoy making films - mostly parodies of various genres. I then edit the films using a programme called Magix Movie Edit Pro. There are many old buildings on our university and our project team, under the guidance of Prof. Yi, was to design a new teaching building that must show due respect for the existing elegantly-styled traditional buildings on one hand and incorporate modern elements on the other. As team leader, I divided the project into three component part【s b】uilding design, integration with the environment, and structural design. I consulted a wealth of domestic and international technical literature and design specifications, conducted on-the-spot reconnaissance using various technical instruments, and collaborated fully with other team members on preparing the design drawings. Having made repeated revisions and modifications in the design drawings, I completed the challenging project by applying my knowledge and skills of CAD engineering drawing and _ (a software developed by China) engineering drawing. The team spirit, strong willpower and sound professional performance that I demonstrated in this project were highly appreciated by my teachers and fellow students alike.

In terms of extracurricular activities, I have also endeavored to seek personal excellence. I have been a member of the student government of my class, in charge of art and entertainment activities. I have also served as student leader of the departmental student union responsible for organizational work, launching a series of campus events designed to enrich the students campus life. I won second prize in the 200-meter dash. I received the first prize in the structural design competition of the university. All those activities improved many of my personal qualities such as leadership and interpersonal skills. I also realized the importance of teamwork to the achievement of success in whatever endeavors. Finally, my ability to work independently and creatively has also been considerably improved.

Established in 1842, _ University is one of the four leading polytechnic universities in Europe. Its hydraulic laboratory is considered the best in the world by the International Hydraulic Environment Engineering (IHE). In such a prestigious university, I can expect to receive the best advanced education in civil engineering. I would like to concentrate on civil engineering, environmental science and construction engineering. With reference to the civil engineering curriculum of _ University, I have formulated a tentative study plan. In the first six months I will devote to an extensive coursework in the advanced theories of civil engineering, environmental science and construction engineering, attending a variety of core courses. In the next six months, I will try to learn and master advanced design skills, including CAD skills. In the second year, I will participate in extensive internships, workshops and seminars and try to apply my knowledge to practices. My ultimate aim is to submit a well-written dissertation.

I believe that by pursuing a Masters program at your prestigious university I will broaden my perspectives, in and outside the field of civil engineering. Those perspectives will let me have a clearer idea about the limitations of my own country and possible improvements that we can make. My 4-year undergraduate program in civil engineering has equipped me with a solid academic foundation. In addition to that, my practical experiences and English proficiency, plus my strong motivation, those are three major factors that will ensure my success in my proposed program.

As Chinas economic development gathers increasing momentum, a new wave of massive construction will hit the nation in the near future as urbanization has become a national policy. This situation creates a historical opportunity for the emerging generation of civil engineers. To embrace this historical opportunity, I need to receive advanced academic input, develop international experiences and learn updated concepts. I am convinced that civil engineering is a science that is closely connected with human welfare and, as a would-be civil engineer, I will fulfill my self-actualization in contributing to the welfare of my fellow countrymen.

英国留学奖学金解读

一、志奋领奖学金

全称是Chevening Scholarship,是由英国政府设置的别的项目,申请需要满足学术和语言的高标准要求,一定要获取专业机构的认可才有资格。

八月份开始递交材料申请,十一月份截止,随后进入到审核中,通过材料筛选的学生需要接受在线的面试,然后会在六月份公布结果,获奖的学生可以免费留学。

二、ORS奖学金

全称Overseas Research Scholarship,同样是政府提供的项目,每年的名额大概有800个,是全国范围内的筛选,竞争是比较激烈的,奖金是支付学费差,一般在6000英镑左右。

申请需要学生出示自己IELTS6.5分或者TOEFL100分左右的证书,GPA分数要在3.0以上,而且学生的综合排名要自爱5之内,需要同时满足以上的所有要求。

三、苏格兰国际奖学金

全称Scotland Scholarship,是苏格兰地区的政府颁发的项目,会为所有获奖的学生提供每年2000英镑的资助和免除学费的福利,还会报销往返的机票费用。

申请者需要在苏格兰的大学内就读,而且要在25-35岁之间,英语的考核IELTS不能抵御6.5分,申请的学生如果是就读经济和艺术类的专业会有优先审核权。

四、院校奖学金

由各大院校颁发的奖学金项目,含金量是看学校的名气来的,一般奖金的金额都不会特别高,主要是起到鼓励学习的作用,资助来源包括政府和组织,不会有额外的义务要求。

而申请,一般会分开审核学生的学术成绩和专业技能,根据大家申请的项目进行考核,当然能力越强获奖的可能性会越高,早点确认项目,回提高获奖的成功率。

英国留学选校时的注意事项
