The growing popularity of western festivals inChinais a good phenomenon.

On the one hand, the growing popularity of western festivals promotes cultural exchanges between countries.

Today, learning English has become an important part of our life. Since we go to school, we study English almost everyday, but it seems to be such common phenomenon that even though we learn English all the time, it is so hard for most people to speak in English. And the reasons are in the following.

First, when most people learn English, they tend to pay their attention to the grammar, the structure and the ability to read English. Because the purpose of most students learn English is just to get high marks, to pass the exam, such as CET, if they pass the exam, for some students can go to a better college, others can get a high pay job.

Second, most people feel shy and are afraid of making mistakes, so they choose to not to speak English, it is not good for them in the long run, when one is less practicing speaking English, he gets worse and will not get improve.

The purpose of learning English is to make people communicate and understand each other. So don’t be mean to yourself, never be afraid of making mistakes. From the above examples, we should be confident and give up our burden and speak English, never feel shy of your Chinese English.

Protecting Local Culture

There is no doubt that Hollywood movie is favored by all the people. Almost in every country, Hollywood movies always defeat the local movies, winning the biggest profit. Hollywood movies catch the public's attention by good plots and advanced technology, while the local culture has been face challenge.

In the open market, how to preserve and develop the local culture is the biggest problem. For the young generation, they are easy to be caught by the foreign culture, thus to deny the local culture. For some directors, they ask for cooperation with the Hollywood actors, in the hope to develop local movies. But the result always disappoint the audience, they don't pay the bill to see the strange scene.

The reason for the loss popularity of local culture lies in its old features. If the culture is presented in the new look, it is much easier for the young generation to accept. Only the creativity can make one thing be popular all the time. In the open market, though the local culture face challenge, it still have its advantage, which is the combination of a nation's wisdom.

Terrorism will Never Defeat China【推荐】

As a controversial issue, whether it’s terrorism that lead to the Malaysian airplane’s missing for days is attracting augmenting attention. With terrorist attack seemingly to go on a rapid rise in China, citizens are getting increasingly anxious. Terrorism, which is abominated by all human beings, poses a disastrous threat to our living condition as well as social stability.

Although we confronted with the uNPRecedented threaten of riots or terrorist attacks, I am firmly convinced that terrorism will never defeat our country. As for the reasons, the leading factor I take into consideration is that the armed force in China is getting stronger and more solidified, which will protect civilian safety better. The armed forces such as armed police and military troops are bound to ensure the stability of the prosperity of society and economy.

In addition, terrorism is detestable and hated by people all over the world for its characteristic of diverting from humanism. With hatred against terrorism accumulating, we Chinese will consolidate and the cohesion is doomed to be boosted. At the same time, conscientious foreigners can sense the appalling situation as well, who can provide us with encouragement and assistance, enabling us to fight against terrorism confidently.

All in all, terrorism is completely the worst kind of behavior in human society, which is doomed to be eradicated from the earth. From my own perspective, terrorism won’t defeat China perpetually. I advocate that all of our citizens should be encouraged to work together for sake of making us a better living environment against terrorism.

Should Private Cars Be Encouraged in China?【推荐】

With the rapid development of economy in China, more and more people own their private cars. Different people have different opinions. Some people think that too many private cars may cause more traffic jams and pollute the air, while others believe that people should be encouraged to have private cars. As far as I am concerned, I think private cars have more advantages than disadvantages.

First of all, private cars offer people convenience. With your car, you can go to any place at any time. You just don’t have to wait for the bus or taxi. Unlike bus is always full of people and taxi is expensive, private cars is less crowned and more flexible. During the rush hour, you don’t need to worry could not get in a bus or waste too many money on taxi.

Second, traveling by cars is very comfortable. During the Spring Festival, the going-back home tickets are very difficult to get. But if you have a private car, you can go home immediately without worrying there is no ticket any more. What’s more, the private cars reduce the pressure of the public transportation during the rush hours. When you driving in your own car, you will feel more comfortable and relaxed. I guess it’s the greatest advantage of the private car.

Last but not least, the producing of cars triggers the industries of steel and glass production. It provides people lots of job opportunities. And it makes great contribution to the growth of GDP.

In conclusion, I think owning a car has more advantages than disadvantages. If you can afford one, then you should have it.

Changes in Peoples Diet in China

Changes in Peoples Diet in China

The period of 1986—1990 saw great changes in the diet of the Chinese. Grain, which used to be the main food of most people in China, is now playing a less important role. On the other hand, the meat and fish has increased rapidly. The changes in diet can be accounted for by a number of factors. First, people are much wealthier than before. With higher income, they can afford to buy good foods. Another factor is that people have realized the importance of a balanced diet to their health. Lack of certain amount of meat or milk, for example, will result in poor health. Finally, owing to the eeonomic reform, meat, chicken, fish and milk, which were scarce in the past, are produced in large quantities. For all these reasons, what was formerly called "the basket of vegetables" has. To sum up, insignificant as those changes may seem, they are the signs of the improved economic condition in China. We believe that as long as the effort continuous in reform and opening to the outside world, there will be greater changes in people's diet in the future.
